These
pages are maintained (ish - they are not now updated very
frequently) for a number of purposes
- to promote the use
of the Internet as a medium for the dissemination
of the law
- to provide
practitioners and members of the public with
information about and news on changes to the
English Civil Procedure Rules 1998
- to give news on
the progress of the project to put all the laws
of these islands free on the Internet for the
benefit of all, historically known as the AustLII
Paradigm or Ukileli and now "Bailii". I
am a co-founder of BAILII, which has now been
providing free law to the world for 7 years.
- to forge stronger
legal links between the nations of the current
and former British Commonwealth
- to indulge my
interests in, particularly, Triumph motorcycles
especially the Rocket III, first-class cricket,
scuba-diving, game shooting and the Eastern
Caribbean (both in general and in respect of the
current round of legal reforms in and by the EC
Supreme Court)
- to advertise the
web site of my local Anglican (Episcopalian)
Church
- last, and in in
some senses least because there are so many
others and because the sources change their
addresses so frequently, to offer a few
"portal"-style links to other (free)
sites which I find particularly useful or which
are put out by bodies whose sites ought to be
useful
